SpaceX’s newest rocket may have a name, according to a former company staff member who claims the vehicle is internally known as “D.O.G.E.,” which supposedly stands for “Deep Orbital Galactic Explorer.”
The former SpaceX employee claims the name has been used internally as the company works on its next generation of spacecraft and launch vehicles. While details surrounding the alleged vehicle remain limited, the name suggests a rocket designed for missions that extend well beyond conventional Earth orbit.
The reported name would also add another unusual connection to Elon Musk, who has frequently referenced Dogecoin and the “DOGE” acronym across his businesses and social media accounts. However, there is currently no indication that the alleged rocket is officially connected to Dogecoin.
SpaceX has not publicly confirmed the existence of a rocket named D.O.G.E., and the company has not announced “Deep Orbital Galactic Explorer” as an official vehicle designation. The claim remains based on the former staff member’s account.
